I’ve got even more summer events for you in this week’s newsletter, but make sure you’re planning ahead for the Rodeo at the end of July.

Tickets for reserved seats for Trace Adkins are sold out, but there are still general admission tickets available. Additionally, they’ve announced another concert the day after (Sat, July 25) — AWOLNATION. Not going to pretend like I know who they are, but they are a California alt-rock/electronic project built around frontman Aaron Bruno.

Other quick hits:

  • I had looked at attending this farm-to-table brunch that they have, but I’m pretty sure it was sold out by the time I saw it last year. More info here.

  • My favorite rodeo event, Mutton Bustin’, opened up its registration if you want to get a little one signed up (ages 5-7, under 50lbs). More info here.

  • And last but certainly not least, the rodeo is once again giving out free tickets to military (Patriot Night on July 31) and first responders (Cowboys for Cops on August 2). Grab your promo code to get your free ticket here.

Have the itch for some rodeo now? The Elizabeth Stampede is this weekend. Info here.

Congratulations to Lynne and Carol on winning the $25 gift cards to Monk & Mongoose! If you didn’t win and want to try again, we’re doing a giveaway on Instagram for two more. Check it out here.

Poll results were very balanced:

Which location would you visit first — RidgeGate (51%) and High Note (49%)

Which event would you attend — Sip & Paint (42%), Latte Art Throwdown (30%), and Trivia (28%).

Project cost is $6,579,818, funded through Douglas County maintenance funds. Work runs 7am to 7pm Monday through Friday, with possible Saturday work, through September 2026. One lane open in each direction throughout. Alternates: Dad Clark Drive or East Wildcat Reserve Parkway during peak commute times.

Stage 1 fire restrictions lifted across Douglas County, Parker, and Castle Rock
TLDR: Three jurisdictions rescinded Stage 1 fire restrictions on Monday June 2 after recent moisture improved fire risk conditions. Sheriff Darren Weekly lifted them in unincorporated Douglas County; Parker's Office of Emergency Management rescinded them townwide; and in Castle Rock, Town Manager David L. Corliss and Fire Chief Norris W. Croom III rescinded the restrictions that had been in place since December 15. All three agencies say they'll continue monitoring conditions and could reinstate if needed.
